Brandon Corral is a popular online video streamer, artist, and instructor known for his unique approach to adding depth, detail, and textures to leather designs.
In his follow-up class with Elktracks Studio, Corral shares his process for coloring tooled leather pieces. Throughout the video, he demonstrates airbrushing and brush techniques that combine dyes and acrylic paints, then ties it all together with antique for a very dramatic finish. Corral's multiple camera set up allows students to see what the airbrush does on the leather, but also what his hands are doing off screen as he changes colors, cleans the tool, etc.
Throughout the class, Corral uses the skull with floral designs, wood texture, fabric details, and a cave-like framing carving from his first workshop to demonstrate how to use color to create light and depth.
