About This Video

August 15th, 2019 marked what would have been the 100th birthday of the legendary leatherworker Al Stohlman. To honor his birthday, Jim Linnell was joined by George Hurst and Michael Magnus in a two-hour workshop that has less focus on instruction, with more attention given to celebrating Al's memory with stories and insights on his life and impact to the industry.

Throughout the trio's dialogue and discussions, Jim Linnell demonstrates the figure carving of Stohlman's pattern "Indian Warrior", originally published by American Handicrafts as a copper tooling pattern.

While this is a recording of a live, online, class, viewers can benefit from both audience questions and workshop moderation.
