About This Video

Part history lesson, part leather craving workshop, this is the fourth in a series of workshops that we host examining the different styles of some of the masters and discussing what makes them each unique.

Cliff Ketchum was a true leather artist and a master of the swivel knife. His career spanned from working at Porters Saddlery to making saddles and other leather pieces for Hollywood films and stars. He even acted in some of the westerns of the time including Gun Smoke. On top of all of that, he and his contemporaries started the very first leather guild. He was also one of the early contributors to the Craftool Doodle Pages.

This is a video of the live online workshop presented by Jim Linnell where we take and in depth look at Cliff Ketchum's impact on the leather world, the influence his carving had on others including Jim, and the intricacies that are unique to the carving style of Cliff Ketchum.
