Drawing Leather Patterns
It’s not long before many leather workers want to advance beyond leatherworking templates to create their own Western leather tooling patterns.
Throughout this 5-part series, Jim breaks down each element of floral design drawing into two parts: floral drawing and leather carving. To really understand how to draw a pattern that makes sense, you also have to think through how you are going to carve it.
So that this can be taught and understood correctly, this series will be broken down into 4 initial classes, each focusing on one of the key elements of floral patterns: floral, scrolls, acanthus leaves, and broad leaves. A final class is also offered on putting all of these elements together to create a graceful floral design to fit any project.
