About This Pattern
August 15th, 2019 marked what would have been the 100th birthday of the legendary leatherworker Al Stohlman. To honor his birthday, Jim Linnell was joined by George Hurst and Michael Magnus in a two-hour recorded workshop that has less focus on instruction, with more attention given to celebrating Al's memory with stories and insights on his life and impact on the industry.
Throughout the trio's dialogue and discussions, Linnell demonstrates the figure carving of Stohlman's pattern "Indian Warrior," originally published by American Handicrafts as a copper tooling pattern. This is the pattern used in that workshop.
This pattern was originally created to be used with the video workshop 100 Years of Stohlman: The History, Style, and Impact of Al Stohlman. We’d love to see what you make from it in our online Facebook group Elktracks Studio Creations.
*No ownership of this pattern is being claimed, and full credit is given to it's original publisher, American Handicrafts*
