About This Video

In this two-part class, award-winning leather artist Kathy Flanagan walks students through creating a realistic three-toed sloth! Kathy's work has been featured in a number of exhibits, and students are always impressed with what they accomplish with her instruction.

This first workshop focuses on the carving of this adorable sloth, demonstrating how to create the textures for the face and its complex fur, as well as the branches and leaves around it. 

The second workshop will focus on bringing that carving to life through the use of color to create life-like expression.

If you are interested in exploring figure carving or pushing the boundaries of your existing skills, this is a great class for you!

This is a re-recording of a live, online class, so viewers benefit from both audience questions and workshop moderation.
