Jim begins by showing several methods for how you can create a tracing pattern from a favorite photo. He also shows how to capture the personality of the subject in the carving steps. A good amount of the class is spent on the wide variety of hair textures that makes each breed unique. 

Pet portraits can be big business, so these are techniques that you may want to spend some time perfecting.
